Comets Giving Day 2018
Law enforcement is inherently a high-pressure profession. Police officers routinely make tough decisions, often under extreme stress and/or facing threat of harm. The Center for BrainHealth’s Brain Performance Institute provides science-based cognitive and mindfulness training programs that can help law enforcement personnel by equipping them with practical tools for tactical decision-making, creative real-time problem solving, and down-regulating emotional responses to stress. Our training is rooted in scientific research and thoughtfully designed with the nuances of law enforcement culture in mind. Since 2017, we have trained more than 200 members of the Dallas Police Department and are working to provide these needed programs to other first responder agencies as well. These programs are offered free of charge to law enforcement officers, thanks to private philanthropy – and we need your help to continue providing these needed services to the men and women who serve on the front lines of our communities.
