According to Dallas ISD, about 49 percent of its 2014 graduating seniors enrolled in college the semester after graduating from high school. By the year after graduation, 2015, post-high school enrollment reached 56 percent. DISD reports that those of that did go on to college, about 25 percent did not return for their second year.
The goal of the Jindal Young Scholars Program is to improve those numbers. Offering hands-on assistance in high school and a promise of a debt-free college career for students accepted into the UT Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management, the Jindal Young Scholars Program gives to Dallas what it needs most — bright, educated and motivated professionals who are committed to improving the community where they were raised.
