Student Ambassadors know better than anyone the impact that donors make on UT Dallas. As Ambassadors, we opened doors, lead tours, greeted friends, thanked supporters and did whatever else was asked of us to give back to a university that has given us so much.
Now, we have a new opportunity to give back. The Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center will open to the public in fall 2017. As alumni, it's our home on campus. It will become a central gathering point for the community, housing meetings, conferences and large events.
Inside the building, there's a beautiful seating area off Inspiration Hall. It looks out onto the central lawn, and across to the welcome desk for the building. This seating area will be a prime launching point for campus tours, a bright spot for students studying, and a warm space for visiting alumni to plug in or relax.
We have an opportunity to name this space in honor of the Student Ambassadors program. Doing so gives the Ambassadors a permanent place to call their own on campus, and pays tribute to the thousands of hours of service that you, and your fellow Ambassadors, poured into advancing UT Dallas.
We're asking you to make a gift to help name this space for the Student Ambassador program. Give for the friendships formed. For Oozeball. For Sounds of Class. For Project 200. For ASAP conferences. For etiquette dinners and the UT Dallas Gala. For Donor Appreciation Days. For Legacy Lane and the UT Dallas Ring. For standing in parking lots, looking for guests who looked lost. For opening doors, literally and figuratively. For being entrusted to represent our university. For the opportunity to leave our Alma Mater better than we found it.
We need to raise $10,000 in order to name the space in honor of the Student Ambassadors program. Funds raised will be placed into a permanent endowment for the support of the building. All donors will be recognized on the Ambassador website and invited to a private tour of the building before it opens to the public. We can do this. Let's do it for UTD!
*If UT Dallas is unable to raise at least $10,000 from donors, all gifts will be placed in the DGAC Endowment.
