The Callier Center for Communication Disorders at UT Dallas helps people communicate throughout their lives – to hear and be heard, to understand and be understood. For over 50 years we have provided treatment, training and research to help people of all ages hear, speak and connect with others.
When you give to Callier, you give a child a voice. You transform a life. You help patients connect with the world.
Callier Care Fund:
For many patients with speech, language and hearing disorders, the journey of care requires ongoing therapeutic and rehabilitative services – sometimes over the patient’s lifespan. The cost of these services can be overwhelming, especially when families are faced with limited financial resources.
Your gift will help provide care to patients who cannot afford their treatment or whose insurance does not cover, or only partially covers, their treatment.
Cochlear Implant Camp:
Each year, Callier audiologists and speech-language pathologists conduct a fun-filled summer camp for children ages 4 - 11 who have cochlear implants. Children receive listening and speech-language therapy and participate in exciting camp activities. This unique camp provides an opportunity for a child to engage with other children who have cochlear implants, and family members come together to share information.
Your gift will support this exceptional camp that provides children with specialized care.
Speech and Language Summer Camps:
The Callier Center offers a number of summer camps for children with communication disorders. Camps are led by speech-language pathologists who provide therapy to children with conditions including speech and language disorders and autism spectrum disorder. The goal is to help children progress in speech, language and social skills while engaging in fun-filled activities with friends who share the same challenges and victories.
Your gift will support these unique camps that are specifically designed to meet the needs of each child.
Communication Learning Program (CLP):
CLP is a community-based program that provides speech and language therapy to adults who are faced with significant communication disabilities due to acquired neurological disorders such as stroke or traumatic brain injury. The majority of CLP participants have either exhausted their insurance benefits or have no benefits at all, leaving them with no means to access continued care. CLP is funded through gifts made by generous donors. We all know someone who has suffered from a stroke or traumatic brain injury.
Your gift will help an adult reclaim his or her life.
