The Douglas Aundre Peterson Scholarship Fund:
The Douglas Aundre Peterson Scholarship Fund is an endowed fund that supports students in need, particularly those who are facing housing insecurity. The funds are administered by the Office of Campus Resources and Support.
The Bruce August, Jr. Fund:
The Bruce August, Jr. Fund will provide support for UT Dallas students to enhance their college experience. Such support may include activities that promote academic achievement, student travel and support for basic human needs. Distributions will be made at the discretion of a committee appointed by the Vice President for Campus Resources and Support. The fund was established to honor the memory and legacy of Bruce August, Jr., a UTD alumnus, staff member and leader.
The Life Transitions Closet
The Life Transitions Closet provides UT Dallas students and employees with the clothes, shoes, and accessories they need to navigate whatever life transitions they experience (pregnancy, interviews, jobs, basic needs, etc.). Donations may be used to purchase the following: shirts, pants, skirts, shoes, jewelry and accessories, new undergarments, new socks, new bathing suits, new bras, new bra inserts, wigs, hygiene products, and cosmetics. Additionally, donations may support more permanent furniture and storage for the space.
Future Comets
Future Comets is a college readiness initiative focused on math and, more broadly, STEM preparation for middle and high school students in Dallas, Garland, Carrolton, Farmers Branch, and Richardson ISDs. The program offers math enrichment classes and activities designed to introduce students to STEM careers.
YWISEI
The Young Women In Science and Engineering Investigators (YWISEI) program promotes scientific research in a team environment and provides real world research and design experience to increase students’ interest in STEM career opportunities. High school students across DFW work on teams alongside teachers, faculty and industry mentors to develop a STEM-based research project, culminating in a competition where the top teams win scholarships to UTD.
