Cheerleaders
The UT Dallas Cheerleaders are a co-ed team whose primary focus is to elevate school spirit on campus. The cheerleaders can be found leading the crowd in both the fall and spring semesters at women’s volleyball or at men’s and women’s basketball games. They can also be seen at many campus events with special performances during Welcome Week and Homecoming. In April, the cheerleaders compete at the NCA Collegiate National Championship in Daytona Beach, FL.
Power Dancers
Power Dancers are the official dance team of UT Dallas. Members perform at varsity athletic events, make special appearances on campus throughout the year, and are a source of school spirit. In addition to performing at university and community events, Power Dancers have appeared on ESPN College Game Day, Good Morning Texas and the Dallas Cowboys Halftime Show. They perform hip hop, pom, jazz and a variety of other dance styles. Being a member of the Power Dancers family provides an opportunity for students to exercise initiative, leadership and creativity through dance. The team travels to Florida each year to compete at the National Dance Alliance (NDA) College Nationals.
Temoc
Temoc is the official mascot of UT Dallas. The character of Temoc was crafted in 1998 by alumnus Aaron Aryanpur. Temoc’s name, blue skin and fiery orange hair all come from a single source: Temoc is “comet” spelled backwards.
Temoc’s best friends are the UT Dallas Cheerleaders, Power Dancers and athletes. Temoc is very serious about his physique and can be spotted working out at the Activity Center. He is very supportive of UT Dallas Athletics of all kinds: soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball and others. He is a part of the UT Dallas community and is one with the crowd.
Temoc likes to attend major events on campus such as the Homecoming Parade, Casino Night, Freshman Convocation, Orientations, Alumni Breakfasts and more. Temoc also enjoys giving back to the community by participating in community service programs. He loves to get invitations so don’t hesitate to request an appearance at your next event.
