The experiential learning provided by the UTDesign Capstone program provides our computer science and engineering students real world skills and exposure which directly effects their job readiness and career potential.
UTDesign is a leading Capstone program which is more a rigorous than most other programs and 80% of the projects are partially funded and mentored by real companies.
Goal # 1: $2,800 - Solder Reflow Oven & Installation
Countless students: “Wow! I just spent 2 hours soldering surface-mount components onto my senior design printed circuit board, and it doesn’t work! The board is an absolute mess, and I’ve got to start all over again… I’m so frustrated.”
Do you remember those days, ECE alumni? Give back to the UTDesign Senior Capstone program and help the students coming after you by giving them access to a new tool that will allow them to solder surface-mount components efficiently and accurately onto PCBs.
We’ve picked out a really nice reflow oven! It uses precise temperature control to heat the solder paste to the correct melting point, resulting in strong and reliable solder joints. By using a reflow oven, makers can save time and increase their soldering accuracy, which can be especially important for complex or small-scale projects. Additionally, having a reflow oven in the UTDesign studio can help to expand the range of projects that students can take on, making the lab more versatile and valuable to its users.
100% of your support goes directly to our program including equipment and other operating costs. A gift of any size can make a big impact on these senior design program. Thank you for supporting UTDesign Capstone.
