Who we are
The Student Counseling Center serves students by providing quality mental health services (e.g. counseling; psychiatry; workshops; crisis intervention) and outreach programs that address common student mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, identity exploration, relationship concerns, etc. The SCC is committed to creating a campus community that embraces and celebrates diversity including all of the intersecting identities that make us unique individuals. A psychiatric team as well as mental health providers are available daily, and all services are free and confidential to enrolled students.
What we're fundraising for
The SCC is committed to decreasing barriers students may face in prioritizing their mental health needs. The SCC will utilize these funds to create an emergency fund for students that are experiencing financial struggles that are keeping them from pursuing mental health treatment outside of the SCC (e.g. inpatient programs; psychological assessments for neurodiverse students). Funds will also be made available for BIPOC students seeking therapy in the community.
Our impact
The need for quality mental health services is at an all time high. The SCC is devoted to UT Dallas students having access and quality care for their mental health. It is so important to us that ALL students have the ability to access care, and we continue to strive to make sure that happens.
