Access to role models and cultural representation in a university setting is essential for students to learn, grow and thrive throughout their academic careers. This 2023 Hispanic Heritage Month, the Latino Faculty & Staff Association (LFSA) would like to invite a renowned Latinx professional, activist, or expert to UTD for a virtual conversation on the complexities of the Latinx culture – family, race, gender, and the intersection of these identities. We are in the preliminary phases of selecting a speaker and we have many on our list, such as Paola Ramos, Peter Bratt, Dolores Huerta, and others.
