Who we are:
The University of Texas at Dallas founded the Center for Asian Studies in 2019 to promote knowledge of and engagement with the diverse cultures of Asia and Asian America.
What we're fundraising for:
Our mission includes:
- sponsoring education, research and public outreach programs
- serving as a catalyst for collaboration across disciplines, areas of study, academic approaches, and modes of creative practice
- increasing the resources and opportunities for faculty members and students engaged in Asian Studies
The creation of Center for Asian Studies responds to the steady increase of academic interest in Asia during the past decade. Faculty and students in all of the University’s seven Schools interact with Asia through research, exchange programs, and a wide range of academic courses. The recent addition of the Crow Museum of Asian Art to the UT Dallas academic family has created another layer of engagement that enhance our ability to provide an important learning resource for the university and greater community.
In addition to generating and disseminating knowledge, fostering engagement is one of our key objectives.
