The Taekwondo club covers several different aspects of Taekwondo including technique, forms, sparring, and general fitness. Each of our instructors has earned a black belt and has previous experience leading Taekwondo classes. The drills we do include kicks and combos up and down the floor, using paddles and shields to practice power and accuracy, and focused practice on specific moves. Each week, we also cover forms and sparring, mostly focusing on teaching the basics to new members while working on more advanced practices as the semester goes on.
Our fundraising priorities include: buying appropriately sized sparring gear (much of our current gear is far too large for all of our members); replacing the worn paddles, shields, and other equipment; and organizing a trip to an outside forms/sparring tournament.
