The International Center maintains a general fund to support various internationalization efforts and provide emergency financial support.
New Faculty-Led Education Abroad Opportunity Fund in honor of Cristen Casey
The New Faculty-Led Education Abroad Opportunity Fund in honor of Cristen Casey, established by Serenity Rose King enables The University of Texas at Dallas students to turn the larger world into their classroom. It provides the necessary financial support to UT Dallas faculty to lead students abroad, where students encounter the subject matter of the course directly and hands-on. Past examples include Water Resources and Sustainability in South Africa, Medical Spanish and Internship in Spain and Engineering Projects in Community Service in Uganda.
International Student Emergency Fund
The International Student Emergency Fund is managed out of the International Student Services Office and was established to support F-1 international students at UT Dallas.
The fund was established to provide financial support to students whose employment may have been reduced or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund also supports students experiencing the following financial challenges including:
• USCIS economic hardship and other work authorization applications
• Housing and food insecurity
• Medical expenses
• Costs to travel home
• Other unexpected necessities
