The Future Comets Program, hosted by the Department of Community Engagement, is a college readiness initiative focused on math and STEM preparation for middle and high school students in Dallas and Richardson ISDs. The program offers math enrichment classes, leadership development workshops, and activities designed to introduce student to STEM careers. The goal of the program is to help student graduate from high school ready enroll in a rigorous college curriculum.
This year, the program served 67 students through virtual learning and nearly 100% of the students earned a grade of B or better on their math class during a pandemic. Now more than ever, the Future Comets Program is critical to help students excel in math and prepare for college.
This year, the program will serve nearly 120 students through virtual and in-person sessions. In order to be successful in their math course, every student will need a TI-Nspire CX calculator. The cost of a calculator is $150. Your support will help us provide a calculator to each student regardless of their family’s economic situation.
Your support will have a long-lasting impact by providing an important tool for our students’ success in their math courses.
