Behavioral and Brain Sciences

The School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences brings together innovative research, student training, and community outreach in a climate that fosters collaboration and learning.

The school’s mission is to study the biology and psychology of thought and language, development and aging, social interaction, and perception in healthy adults and children both in illness and health. Through this work, we aim to enhance the health, education, and quality of life of adults and children, their families and their communities. This is accomplished with fundamental investigation of brain and behavior, and applied research in remediation and compensation, including the use of advanced technology.

Please consider making a gift in support of the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences, to one or more of the funds below. Your generosity to BBS will help create scholarships and fellowships, boost our departments, and enhance a superb UT Dallas education in neuroscience, psychology, and speech, language, and hearing.

  • School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences: Your gift provides support for research and education in all behavioral and brain sciences, funds allocated across departments to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration, create endowed professorships, fund graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and support other broad-based small- and large-scale projects.
  • Department of Neuroscience Fund: Gifts to the Department of Neuroscience support the educational and research activities of the students and faculty in cellular, molecular, and systems neuroscience.
  • Department of Psychology Fund: Gifts to the Department of Psychology support the educational and research activities of the students and faculty in developmental, social, and cognitive psychology.
  • Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Fund: Gifts to the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing support the educational and research activities of the students and faculty in the three areas of communication sciences and disorders.
