Comets HELP
Comets HELP is a student-led organization. Our aim is to prevent hospital acquired delirium in geriatric patients while giving students the opportunity to connect with patients. We work directly with geriatric patients at the William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital. Our members engage in delirium prevention efforts that are nationally recognized by AGS CoCare: Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP). These include cognitive engagement through conversation and activities, encouraging regular sleep routines by opening blinds, and supporting nutrition.

Additionally, we organize educational lectures, and hands-on workshops to encourage students to be more aware of delirium in the elderly patient population. These lectures are given primarily by physicians which helps students’ understanding of aging-related conditions and support their interest in geriatrics.

Your support will go towards patients and students. Donations will allow us to expand our outreach efforts, enabling us to serve a greater number of geriatric patients. Moreover, contributions help us grow student interest in geriatrics by enhancing programming, resources, and training opportunities. Donations will also help support student participation in national research conferences such as the American Geriatrics Society (AGS).

By supporting Comets HELP, you are investing in compassionate care for an underserved population and helping shape a future generation of healthcare providers who are better equipped to care for our aging community.
