The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing advances education, research, and community engagement across the full scope of communication sciences. With programs ranked among the best in the nation — including a #5 Doctor of Audiology and #18 Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology — SLH prepares students to make a real difference in the lives of the people they serve.

This Comets Giving Day, your gift to SLH supports students in the following ways:
- SLH Graduate Student Scholarships: Your gift provides scholarship and fellowship support for AuD and SLP MS students pursuing careers in audiology and speech-language pathology.
- SLH Undergraduate Student Scholarships: Your gift helps fund education for SLHS undergraduate students who need financial support during their early educational preparation for careers in audiology and speech-language pathology.
- Student Travel & Professional Development: Help SLH students attend conferences like ASHA, TSHA, and AAA — including travel support for students being recognized for their work at national and regional events.
- Community Engagement: SLH students regularly participate in service-based learning events that bring clinical expertise to the broader community. Your gift helps cover the costs of these programs for the students who make them possible.

Experience UT Dallas’ global spirit through music, dance, and more at the iWeek Global Talent Show. In partnership with UT Dallas Alumni, $700 in Comets Giving Days bonus funds will be split and awarded to top performers (1st, 2nd, 3rd). Doors open on April 10 at 6:30 p.m., first-come seating. Help the @UTDallasAlumni Instagram account reach 10,000 followers by April 7, 2026 and $500 in bonus funds will be gifted at random to one of our Comets Giving Days groups and announced on April 8. Help the account reach 11,000 followers by the close of giving days on April 8 and an additional $1,000 in bonus funds will be gifted at random and announced on April 9, 2026. Comets Giving Days/iWeek Service Week Event

Join us during iWeek for a hands-on volunteer event supporting future Comets! We’ll pack supply kits to help incoming international students feel welcomed and prepared as they settle in at UT Dallas. Each year, more than a thousand students arrive with limited belongings, and this event offers comfort and community. In partnership with Comets Giving Days, we’re uniting service and philanthropy. Hosted by UT Dallas Alumni, Office of Student Volunteerism, and Intercultural Programs. Passport to the World kicks off iWeek on April 6 with an international festival featuring food, music, and cultural showcases. Stop by the Plinth between 1-3 p.m. to vote for “Best in Show,” with $300 in Comets Giving Days bonus funds awarded.
