Nebula Labs is an interdisciplinary group of designers, engineers, product specialists and marketing managers who strive to improve our community by creating and maintaining software 

Mission

UTD Clubs 

  • An organization and event directory with 90% of UTD's student orgs on it.
  • Launched this semester and have already seen 1,000s of students on the site and many orgs using it to promote their events.

UTD Trends

  • Our data analytics platform to help students with registration by visualizing multiple data sources.
  • Allows students to plan their schedule right in the website.

UTD Rooms

  • Find open rooms on campus for studying.
  • Pulls room bookings from CourseBook, Astra and Mazevo.

API & Platform

  • The backbone of Nebula Labs.
  • Providing reliable and feature-rich data infrastructure for all of Nebula’s projects and hundreds of hackathon projects.


Goals

$1,500

  • Launch a formal mentorship program pairing 50 experienced members with 80 new recruits across design and engineering.
  • Fund a semester-long speaker series bringing industry professionals to campus.

$1,000

  • Host a Nebula-sponsored workshop series consisting of 4-8 workshops on various design and engineering topics.
  • Fund a hackathon track sponsorship with HackUTD, HackAI or WeHack.

  • Expand the API & Platform infrastructure to support 100 more external developers and hackathon projects.
  • Fund an interdisciplinary recruiting push to grow the org with a new wave of 100+ members.

  • Provides supplies and materials for one industry professional workshop, teaching students about resume building, leadership, AI, cybersecurity, etc.

Faculty and Staff Workday Power Hours
On April 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., all faculty and staff gifts of $5-$26 will be matched dollar for dollar up to $2,600. Plant your seed of support and watch your impact double!

The top three UT Dallas student organizations that receive the most gifts from alumni will receive an additional $1000, $750 and $250 in bonus funds. Each alumni who gives, counts, so get your alumni involved and excited!

10,000 Followers
Help the @UTDallasAlumni Instagram account reach 10,000 followers by April 7, and $500 in bonus funds will be gifted at random to one of our Comets Giving Days groups and announced on April 8. Help the account reach 11,000 followers by the close of Comets Giving Days on April 8, and an additional $1,000 in bonus funds will be gifted at random and announced on April 9. Social Comets, activate those networks!

Passport to the World
Passport to the World kicks off iWeek on April 6 with an international festival featuring food, music and cultural showcases. Stop by the Plinth between 1-3 p.m. to vote for “Best in Show,” with $300 in Comets Giving Days bonus funds to be awarded. Visit the UT Dallas Alumni booth to learn about Comets Giving Days and enjoy snacks and giveaways.

Comets Giving Days/iWeek Service Week Event
Join us during iWeek for a hands-on volunteer event supporting future Comets! We’ll pack supply kits to help incoming international students feel welcomed and prepared as they settle in at UT Dallas. Each year, more than a thousand students arrive with limited belongings, and this event offers comfort and community. In partnership with Comets Giving Days, we’re uniting service and philanthropy. Branching Out to All 50
We’re calling on alumni and friends from every state to help us grow our reach. When the U.S. map is fully “branched out” with at least one gift from all 50 states, two $500 bonus funds will be awarded. One student organization and one departmental group will each receive a bonus.
