Who We Are
Leaving home to study in a new country is one of the most daunting steps a student can take, but the Indian Students Association (ISA) exists to ensure no one has to navigate it alone. What began as a cultural touchstone has evolved into a vital lifeline and the largest support network for international students at UTD. From the moment new arrivals land, our dedicated officer board and specialized committees step in. Helping them overcome culture shock, navigate campus life, and build a lasting community. Today, our expansive network of dedicated officers and hundreds of active members works tirelessly to elevate campus life to provide a true "home away from home." We don't just help students survive the transition - WE EMPOWER THEM TO THRIVE.

What We Do
- Hosting Barrier-Free Cultural Events: As a student-run non-profit, we proudly host massive, fully free festivals for 500-600 students so our heritage can be celebrated without financial barriers.
- Providing Free Airport Pickups: We personally welcome new international students at the terminal, offering safe free transportation and immediate peace of mind the moment they land.
- Organizing Free Grocery Distributions: We supply free essential groceries to incoming arrivals, easing the immediate financial and logistical stress of relocating to a new country.
- Offering Dedicated Support & Mentorship: Serving as the primary point of contact for international students, we provide personalized mentorship to help peers navigate academic, professional, and personal challenges.
- Awarding the ISA Scholarship: We actively invest in our members' futures by funding exclusive scholarships that reward outstanding academic success and community leadership.
- Building a Lifelong Community: We cultivate a tight-knit, highly supportive "home away from home" where students forge lasting friendships and powerful professional networks.

Today, ISA stands as one of the largest student-run non-profits at UTD. We actively serve hundreds of members and are one of the only organizations capable of executing fully free, large-scale events for 500 to 600 students at a time. But our impact goes far beyond cultural festivals.
Last year, thanks to the backing of our sponsors, we achieved a historic organizational milestone: we officially established the ISA Scholarship at the Jindal School of Management (JSOM). Inducted in perpetuity, this permanent endowment ensures our legacy of giving back will last forever, and we proudly awarded the inaugural scholarship to a deserving international student last Fall.
