About Us:
The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics at The University of Texas at Dallas, known as AIAA UTD, is a national student chapter on campus. Aerospace engineering is not offered as a major at the university, but there is a significant interest among students. Our organization bridges that gap and aims to provide the basic skills and experience needed to enter the aerospace industry or any other desired field. Our students specialize in aerospace-based projects across four different branches: research, aviation, rocketry, and aerobotics.
Our club began as a research-based student organization, but over the years, it has grown into the four branches we see today. In addition to project experience, we offer our members a variety of networking and professional development opportunities through workshops, industry tours, and professional speaker events. We are open to all students regardless of major or previous experience. Our goal is not only to equip them with the necessary knowledge but also the interpersonal skills needed to navigate different spaces.
Goal:
We would like to raise $2,000 to help subsidize travel and fees for our competitive teams. They will be representing the university at the following competitions:
- Design Build Fly (Aviation)
- International Rocket Engineering Competition (Rocketry)
- NASA Lunabotics Challenge (Aerobotics)
