Since Fall 2023, Wind Energy Club’s competitive team, Comet Wind, has been designing and creating a small-scale offshore fixed wind turbine, a hypothetical offshore wind farm in the Great Lakes, and a social media and networking campaign–where we partnered with wind industry professionals and hosted community events to spread wind energy awareness to compete in the 2025 Collegiate Wind Competition (CWC). Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the CWC creates an academically competitive platform for college students to prepare for careers in the wind and renewable energy industry by providing hands-on experiences through wind energy technology, project development, finance, communications, and outreach. Comet Wind has been selected as one of the finalists for 2025 CWC, which is held in Boulder, Colorado from May 12-15. To support our participation and cover essential expenses such as travel, housing, food, and team polo shirts, we are launching this fundraiser with the aim of securing the necessary financial resources.
Our goal is to raise $2000 for our upcoming trip. Please help our club so we can perform to the best of our ability at the Collegiate Wind Competition!
