Your donations to this fund will help the Department of Sustainable Earth Systems Sciences (formerly Geosciences) pivot to new directions in Sustainable Earth, Environment, and Natural Resources. This includes supporting new courses, workshops, events, fieldwork, and research experiences for undergraduate and graduate students who wish to learn and apply modern earth science methods to help address the US National Science Foundation Earth Sciences fundamental research objectives, the US National Academies "Grand Challenges Facing Society" and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs),” including fundamental earth sciences discovery, clean and NetZero energy, critical minerals and materials, secure water resources, environmental protection and remediation, climate change and climate mitigation, and other earth sciences issues vitally important to society.
