Who we are
The University of Texas at Dallas athletics program encourages student-athletes to reach their maximum potential in athletics competition, academic enrichment, and personal and career development. The success of UTD athletics offers a sense of pride to the campus community and serves as a rallying point for our students, faculty and other fans. The University transitioned from NCAA Division III to NCAA Division II membership. Our first day as a member of the Lone Star Conference was July 1, 2025.
What we're fundraising for
The money raised during Comets Giving Days helps UT Dallas to be competitive at the NCAA Division II level and increases our ability to recruit, travel, equip, and train our athletes.
Other opportunities include facility enhancements and endowed scholarships for our more than 100 student athletes.
Our impact
Did you know that approximately 7% of all high school athletes compete in college athletics, regardless of division? College athletics provides a unique skill set to all athletes who participate and compete at UT Dallas. UT Dallas collegiate athletes are equipped with time management skills, strong work ethics, and leadership qualities, helping them become some of the next generation of leaders in our communities and workplaces.
